In addition to messages about mechanic recommendations, babysitter referrals, yard sales and block parties, these forums compliment a neighborhood watch. Residents have alerted nearby neighbors about car and home break-ins, graffiti, and other crimes. In some neighborhoods more than 100 households participate and neighbors watch out for each other.
