School Resource Officers |

Since 1999, the Burlington Police Department has supported its Elementary, Middle and High Schools by providing dedicated School Resource Officers (SROs). In addition to providing primary police services to the community, SROs serve a dual role as a member of their assigned school's faculty & staff. SROs conduct routine patrols of their assigned school and they offer instruction to students in a wide range of disciplines. SROs assist in crisis intervention, crime prevention, and safety initiatives. |

Our Community-based style of policing extends to youth and schools as well. Corporal David Scibek works in the High School where he helps teach about safety. Dave grew up in New England, eventually graduating from St. Michael's College with a Bachelor's of Science in Business. Dave is an Eagle Scout, enjoys the culinary arts, and is an area Chief of a volunteer fire department.
